Likening renovating a house to making a movie (both require years of planning), Kate Hudson says when you have a bug for decorating, you’re prepared to take some risks. “I find my favorite rooms are always the ones where I’m not afraid to commit to color,” she says. “Since this isn’t the house I’m going to live in forever, I wanted to be a little bolder.” Hudson loves using the room to entertain friends, but says it’s not a grown-up-exclusive space. “I don’t believe in that,” she says. “Some of my favorite memories growing up are of my parents entertaining while we kids ran around.”
