For Jonathan and Zooey, wallpaper is a must. It’s part of what brought the Park House to life! (As well as their New York City apartment.) So Jonathan has decided to give us an exclusive tour inside the Park House, his and Zooey’s historic LA home, and show us all of the wallpaper they chose. Plus, he’s providing some savvy tips to help guide you when choosing a wallpaper print for your own space. Watch the full video above to get insight into each thoughtful decision they made (as well as some amazing shots from inside their home!) and be sure to subscribe to our channel @DrewandJonathan for even more incredible inspiration.

“Don’t be afraid of wallpaper—that is my advice to you!” Jonathan says. “Whether it’s a subtle grasscloth to add some texture to the wall or something that’s actually adding a vibrant print, it just means instead of having plain painted walls, you can do something that speaks a little bit more to your personality.”

Dining Room

The dining room is a special place in any home, and the same goes for the Park House. This is one of the original rooms in the house, and the built-ins you see are actually original as well! Jonathan and Zooey wanted to uplift the 100-year-old detail and maintain the classic aesthetic while still playing off their style, so they went with a beautiful vining wallpaper that paired nicely with the existing features while adding a pop of pattern.

Breakfast Nook

“Anytime I’m putting wallpaper into a kitchen or an eating area, I always feel like it should have something botanical in it, maybe fruit—something that just feels appropriate for the space,” Jonathan says. He actually liked this pretty print so much that he scanned the wallpaper, made a fabric out of it, and used it to reupholster the antique dining chair cushions (pretty neat, right?!).

Zooey’s Office

For Zooey’s office, she wanted a wallpaper that would help warm up the space and tie in with the black accents. The hint of pink in the dark gray and black vining pattern does so perfectly—especially when paired with the other pink decor—bringing the whole space together for a cohesive look. The wallpaper really did the trick to make her workspace (and the cats‘ favorite place to lounge!) feel warm, comfortable, and personal.

Guest Room

The guest room is a space meant to feel relaxing, rejuvenating, and inviting—and Jonathan and Zooey wanted those traveling from out of town to feel like they truly had a home away from home. The wallpaper in this space was actually designed by Jonathan himself for one of the previous Scott Living wallpaper collections! Floral prints help create a soothing, serene atmosphere, which was the exact goal.

And There’s Plenty More to Explore

But it’s more than just these rooms where Jonathan and Zooey have used wallpaper to make an impact. In their NYC apartment, as well as in multiple other rooms inside the Park House, they’ve used wallpaper to tell a story. Watch the video above for more!
