We all know him for his hilarious antics as an actor in Scrubs and his filmmaking talent in Garden State—but now, Zach Braff is making an appearance on Celebrity IOU! He’s enlisting the help of Drew and Jonathan to gift his longtime friend Mark a stunning home renovation that he well deserves. After buying his home, Mark realized how much work was needed in order to get the house up to his family’s standards.
Between structural issues, outdated flooring, and awkward layouts, the first floor definitely needed some work. Luckily, Drew and Jonathan were there to help Zach make it happen. Zach actually renovated his own home over the course of two years, so he was excited to work on Mark’s home with the Brothers’ help. They wanted to lean into the home’s original Spanish-style character by including rounded archways and dark oak wood, as well as plenty of art and plush fabrics to make the space feel welcoming. The result was a beautiful surprise for Mark, his wife, and their two daughters.
Before and Afters
Open and Modern Dual-Purpose Room
This blank-slate room was completely transformed into a vibrant and lively living space. Engineered hardwood oak was installed in a creative herringbone pattern, which adds an unexpected artistic element. Modern finishes and comfortable fabrics make the living and dining area feel cozy and welcoming.
Space-Saving Banquette Dining Table
A plush and space-saving corner banquette allows the family dining table feel stylish and inviting while still accommodating the dual-purpose room layout. In the corner on the opposite wall, a hidden bookcase door conceals a stackable washer and dryer for a personal touch that Zach requested.
Cool and Contrasting Kitchen
Begone, Pacman-style kitchen layout and hello, functionality! Mark and his family definitely needed better storage space, so the Bros and Zach delivered. Dark oak lower cabinets contrast the soft white-colored upper cabinets in a complementary fashion that looks sleek and modern. A custom island leaves enough space for Mark’s kids to sit and do homework at without compromising the kitchen’s square footage.
