Waylon & Adam

After living in small city condos, comic enthusiasts Adam and Waylon (and their adorable cats) found a spacious suburban home to settle into and start the next chapter of their lives. After the guys had been living for months in the basement, we came to the rescue to furnish the home and give it a modern, yet traditional, transformation worthy of a superhero.

Before & After

Waylon and Adam had billed themselves as polar opposites when it came to design, but once we went through our inspiration-home tour, it turns out they weren’t as far apart as they thought. They both liked an updated traditional look that was low on drama and high on functionality. We delivered the whole package in the kitchen with warm tones and cabinets that took advantage of the wasted space in their previous layout, in addition to an island that replaced a dividing wall.

The guys mentioned they were into comics as collectibles, so we wanted them to have a space where they could show off their most prized possessions … and throw in a few sentimental items, too! These built-ins provide plenty of storage for hosting big meals with family and friends, while creating lots of room for dinner conversation pieces.

Waylon and Adam had never really had their own bathroom before, so we needed to make this one extra-relaxing. We installed dual shower heads and his-and-his sinks to give them each their own space, while making the ensuite big enough overall so they wouldn’t be bumping into each other.
