Over the past 30 years, Drew and Jonathan have helped families renovate all sorts of houses, investment properties, condos, and more—but today, they’re getting a little more personal, and giving real fans (yes, like you!) personal redecorating advice for their home headaches and decorating conundrums. They sent in photos of the problem areas they wanted the Bros’ help with, and today, they’re here to deliver their expert advice, tips, and solutions. Watch and see what they came up with!

“We’re going to show you what’s not working, and some small steps you can take to make a big difference,” Drew says. From small spaces that need to flex as both a guest room and an office, to discovering ways for children’s rooms to grow with them, to living rooms that need to pull double-duty as a cool spot for teens to lounge in, the Brothers are tackling all of these problems and more. They’re sharing solid redecorating advice that will help your space function (and look!) better than ever. Watch the video to see all the renovating solutions they came up with, and check out a handful of our favorite before and afters below.

Flex Space to Cozy Guest Room & Office

Heather from Nashville turned her old guest room into a nursery. So of course, then she needed help transitioning her office into a flex space that could also function as a replacement guest room. Instead of a daybed, Drew and Jonathan suggested a Murphy bed with a fold-out desk and storage, so it can function for work on her typical day-to-day, but easily turn into a comfortable area for visitors when she needs it.

Empty Living Room to Cozy Den

Megan and her boyfriend just moved into an apartment in Brooklyn together, and needed help with decorating ideas for the living room. She wants it to function as a reading room/living room area perfect for relaxing. To cozy up the space, the Bros suggested hanging up curtains with a more substantial fabric high above the windows to bring the eye up and add visual weight, and create a reading nook in the corner to take advantage of that beautiful natural light. Adding a radiator cover will give her another surface that feels built-in, too.

Emily from New Jersey was having trouble with her kitchen space that also had to double as a laundry room. “A lot of times, you don’t want to show your laundry in your kitchen because it just stands out as awkward,” Drew says. “But what you could do is, you could actually just put some nice cabinet doors over top of the laundry. It just blends in with your kitchen cabinets so you don’t see it—and everyone just assumes it’s part of your pantry.” Alongside this, they also suggested using wallpaper to break up the stark white-on-white look, and adding in some cozy window treatments to help warm up the space.
