Joel and CC Navigate a Tricky Layout to Make Their Home a Haven

A Formal Dining Space

When it came to the design, Joel and CC wanted to keep it contemporary and cool, with light wood tones and a bit of contrast to make things pop.

Here in the front room and formal dining space, we see that pan out with blond flooring and dark toned furniture, plus upgraded lighting that gives off the vibe Joel and CC are going for.

A Kitchen Worth Cooking In

That contemporary look streams seamlessly into the kitchen, where light wood cabinetry is complemented with cream countertops and warm under-cabinet lighting.

With plenty of storage and a more comfortable setup, Joel and CC are able to cook, host, and enjoy meals in a space that feels like theirs.

Space for Entertaining

The fireplace that Joel hated is now a thing of the past. Removing it allowed the space to open up, so conversation can flow from room to room when they’re entertaining.

Comfort is as important to Joel and CC as style, so cozy furniture, plush cushions, and an inviting atmosphere was at the top of their priorities list.

What was once Joel’s cramped, cluttered nook of chaos is now a zone where he can enjoy his morning cup of coffee—and keep things organized, too, with banquette storage and better functioning furniture.

Dedicated Outdoor Dining

Begone, outdoor office chairs! Joel and CC struggled with how they could design their outdoor space. With the help of Drew and Jonathan, they were able to truly reimagine the dining area into a cool, modern zone for hosting that they’ll actually want to use.

The outdoor area rug grounds the space, while the high-contrast dining set leans into the same style found inside their home.

Relaxing Outdoor Retreat

With such a beautiful backyard, they have to take advantage of every inch! Continuing with the contemporary design, a cohesive outdoor lounge setup turns their backyard space into a total oasis. Now, Joel and CC finally have the home of their dreams.
