Jay Leno’s Multi-Generation Renovation

Jump to a section

While Jay Leno and his wife have never had children of their own, his friend David is like a son to him. David started out as an intern for The Tonight Show, and he not only became a director and producer for Jay’s other shows, but he also personally took care of Jay after he had a terrible accident last year.

Design Highlights
Updated Antiques

We installed entirely new plumbing to make sure David’s bathroom stayed leak-free, but we didn’t want to take away the vintage charm that drew their family to the house in the first place. So we recreated the home’s original checker tile flooring and repurposed a vintage drawer for their bathroom vanity.

A Place to Grow

The trick to creating a great nursery is to make it a space that can grow and mature with the baby. We decorated the side wall with a natural and refreshing peel-and-stick wallpaper print that can be switched out when the baby gets older.

Built-In Beauty

There’s no reason for the only entrance to the bathroom to be through the nursery. After relocating the bathroom door, we used this extra space to create beautiful built-ins that could provide a changing station and extra storage space.
