Product Description
Holiday lights on a schedule, porch lamps that switch on before you pull into the driveway, and a backyard glow you can turn off from bed: this Defiant smart outdoor plug retires the nightly trip outside to flip things on and off. Plug it into an exterior outlet, connect up to two devices, and control them from the Hubspace app together or one at a time. It’s an easy upgrade if you’re putting up outdoor Christmas lights this season.
The plug connects over your home Wi-Fi, with Bluetooth as a backup when your network is down, and no hub is required. It works with Alexa and Google, so “turn on the porch lights” is all it takes, and you can set schedules so string lights, lamps, and other outdoor devices switch on and off automatically. The black polycarbonate housing is rated IP64 for outdoor and damp locations and handles up to 15 amps at 120 volts. Building out a connected home? Styling tip: Pair it with decorative outdoor string lights over the patio, schedule them to switch on at dusk, and give the second outlet to a lit planter or a wreath on the porch. You’ll find more ideas for your exterior on our outdoor page.
