Halloween just days away, and it’s safe to say everyone is excited—especially since this year, Halloween falls on a Friday! If you and your partner, friend, coworker, or family member have a Halloween party to head to, a trick-or-treating date with the kids, or are thinking of entering a Halloween costume contest, then you’ll need to put together cute couples costumes to get the job done. With it being so close, you might be thinking you don’t have a chance. Well, think again! We have ideas for easy couples costumes that are quick to put together and can be customized to fit you and your boo just right.
Go trendy with a well-known pop culture duo like Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked; embrace your inner class clowns with a funny costume like chips and salsa; or take it easy with a quick-ship costume that’s as simple as putting on a t-shirt. With some inspiration from Drew and Jonathan’s costumes from years prior, ideas from cute character and creature duos we love, and viral Halloween costumes we can’t stop thinking about, we put together a list of couples costume ideas that will get you compliments all night.
1. Jonathan and Zooey as Dr. Strange and Lady Guinevere

In 2022, Jonathan and Zooey made up a whole storyline to go with their costume! In a post by Jonathan, the story goes: “I always figured if Dr. Strange could manipulate time… clearly he’d go back and rescue Lady Guinevere.” This could work for multiple different costumes, especially if you and your other half don’t want to dress up as a typical character duo. Make up a story of your characters, coordinate as necessary, and voilà! You’ve got a creative, cute couples costume.
2. Drew and Linda as Bob Ross and His Painting

Couples costumes don’t have to just be well-known twosomes—they can also be cute and punny! Drew and Linda dressed up as Bob Ross and his “happy little trees” painting, and not only was it adorable, but it was very simple to put together. Bob Ross can wear a button-down that’s already in the closet, while his painting can be dressed in any all-black clothing. With a hot glue gun, attach some twine to hang the painting around your neck, or just simply hold it up in front of you. Now that’s a masterpiece!
3. Snoopy and Fifi

We usually see Snoopy and Charlie Brown dressed up together, but what about Fifi? The cute animated couple is the definition of puppy love! Plus, if you choose to dress in adult onesies like we see here, then this is a costume that will keep you comfortable all night long. All you need are some all-white outfits, a red scarf for snoopy, and a pink wig or hat for Fifi.
4. Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore

This adorable duo is a great costume for all ages. With the simple but easily recognizable red shirt for Winnie the Pooh, and Eeyore’s signature pink bow, this couples costume won’t be a bother at all to put together. You’ll be the cutest couple in the Hundred Acre Wood! Bonus points if you come to the Halloween party with honey flavored treats.
5. Napoleon Dynamite and Pedro

For couples who are always there to bring a laugh to the party, it doesn’t get much more fun (or simple!) than dressing up as Napoleon Dynamite and Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite. And all it takes to turn into this hilarious duo is a few simple items: Napoleon can write out “Vote for Pedro” in black marker, while Pedro can grab a favorite blue button-up and finish it off with a bolo to complete the look.
6. Curious George and Man In the Yellow Hat

Who doesn’t love the classic Curious George series? This is a duo that warms all of our hearts, and it’s super simple to put together, too. One of you needs a full yellow outfit—the tie and hat are a must, of course—while the other can dress in a brown sweat suit and some bear ears to make the look complete. Bonus points if you bring some bananas to the Halloween bash!
7. Knight and Princess

This one is a great DIY costume for couples because you can customize it to be as specific or as generic as you’d like. Dress up as a classic princess-knight duo, like Westley and Buttercup from The Princess Bride, or keep it nonspecific and just have fun embracing a couple of medieval characters.
8. Remy and Linguini

If you’re big Pixar fans, then dressing up as Remy and Linguini from Ratatouille is pretty much the ultimate DIY couples costume. One of you can dress up as Remy by simply grabbing some grey and white clothing from the closet and adding in a pair of mouse ears, while the other just needs a button up, an apron, and a chef’s hat to have the costume perfectly come together. That’s amore!
9. Alice in Wonderland

Face paint can go a long way to making a costume look far more impressive, even if you’re working with limited costume clothing. Plus, it’s much more affordable than going all-out with a new outfit and accessories. Make it fun by dressing up as a couple characters from Alice in Wonderland with colorful face paint, unusual color combos, and a few Wonderland-specific additions, like a teacup or the Mad Hatter’s top hat.
10. Pop Stars

Smile for the camera! Dressing up as pop stars for this year’s Halloween party can go whichever way you’d like. You could choose to go all-out on sparkles, glitz, and glam; keep it demure with a chic outfit and a striking wig; or embrace a paparazzi moment with a flashy outfit and a digital camera. It could even be fun to dress up as a popular Hollywood couple like Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, especially for a couples Halloween costume in 2025!
11. Zombie Bride and Groom

Looking for a scary couple Halloween costume that’s just as cute as it is spooky? Try the classic zombie bride and groom. If you have an old white dress you don’t mind tossing, you could even use fake blood to DIY the zombie wedding dress yourself. Pair with a classic black suit and scary makeup, and you’ll be the after-life of the party. ‘Til death do you part, right?

12. Witch and Warlock

These classic Halloween costumes will be easy to style, comfortable to wear, and will always look great in photos. Plus, they’re easy to DIY if you’re running low on time. First, grab the essentials: a witch hat and a cape for the warlock. From there, you can get creative with your outfits. Go for a bell sleeve maxi dress or a black lace skirt, and add in some chunky silver jewelry. And for the warlock, place emphasis on the hair. Use gel or pomade to style, and go for a gothic vintage look for your outfit.
13. Clowns or Jesters

For this, you have the choice of going creepy and scary or silly and colorful. Either way, though, all you’ll really need is some great clown makeup, a wig, and matching jester accessories. Throw colorful sunglasses on for an added pop of color, and make sure your outfits coordinate—either with matching colors, or a fun, mixed-pattern look.
14. Superheroes

Simple, effective, and affordable, a superhero duo will never steer you wrong. Wear matching jeans and simple white tees (or another color of your choice). All you need to finish off the look is a cape or even a blanket, if you’re in a pinch, and mask. Of course, you could always go the extra mile with some face paint or accessories, too.
15. ‘Clueless’ Characters

Worried about a boring Halloween costume? Ugh, as if! Pick your two favorite characters—Cher, Dion, Tai, Travis, Murray, or someone else—and play off their best or most notable looks. You might have to add a few specifics, like a matching plaid skirt and jacket, but you can also use some items you have in your closet already, like a white button-up and high socks. This could also be a great best friends costume!
16. Roaring ’20s

It’s so fun to dress up as 1920s flappers! Between the amazing outfits, cool makeup, and all the vintage accessories, it’s a costume that’s not only easy to put together, but it’s also instantly recognizable. Plus, it doesn’t take much effort to get right. Just make sure you have that iconic fringe flapper dress!
17. 1970s Dancers

For this couples costume, you might not even need to venture outside of your own closet—especially if you still have your dancing shoes from the 70s! Put on some funky glasses, do your hair up big and bouncy, and button up a couple 1970s-inspired shirts for the full look. You can even carry around a boombox playing some hits from the era for added effect.
18. Monsters

Now this is the definition of easy couple Halloween costumes! Because it relies heavily on your makeup rather than the outfit, you can go in any direction with it. Go all in and paint yourself green like Frankenstein’s Monster, or simply add some stitches and dark undereye makeup to pull off the look.
