Pure Beauty Farms 7.5″ Red Celosia Plant

Want instant drama in a sunny spot? Celosia brings it. This Pure Beauty Farms plant arrives already full in a 7.5-inch grower’s pot, with fluffy, flame-shaped red blooms rising above green leaves brushed with red. It’s the kind of plant that makes neighbors slow down on their evening walk, and it’s hand-picked and shipped straight from the grower. Just getting started with plants? Our gardening for beginners guide covers the basics.

Give it full sun and room to grow: the listing puts its mature size at about 24 inches tall and 12 inches wide, with 18 inches between plants in a bed. Water once or twice a week, whenever the soil feels dry. It’s heat tolerant and low maintenance, and it draws bees and butterflies to the garden. Is celosia an annual or a perennial? It’s sold as an annual and blooms from spring until the first frost, though it can come back in frost-free climates. Snip off faded flower heads to keep fresh ones coming, and cut a few stems for bouquets, since the blooms dry beautifully. The listing also notes it’s safe for cats and dogs.

Good to know: celosia is a warm-weather plant, so a single hard frost will end its season, and the grower doesn’t recommend shipping it to states during extreme cold. It also dislikes soggy soil, so make sure your pot or bed drains well.

Styling tip: group three pots by the front door for a bold front porch welcome, or pair the red plumes with mums and pumpkins for a warm fall porch. Find more ideas in our gardening and outdoor stories.
