City Walkthrough: Las Vegas

Welcome to the city where we work, play, and (occasionally) live.

Viva Las Vegas!PHOTO: VISIT LAS VEGAS

We moved to Las Vegas over a decade ago with dreams of becoming entertainers and, thanks to lots of hard work and a few lucky breaks, we never looked back. In addition to spending much of our downtime here, we shot the very first season of Property Brothers at Home and the fourth installation of Brother vs. Brother in Sin City. (And, if you haven’t heard, an upcoming season of Property Brothers takes place in Vegas as well!) Since we know our way around pretty well, we’re sharing our favorite spots—from high-energy to low-key.

01

THE NEON MUSEUM

Since 1996, the Neon Museum has offered visitors a trip down memory lane by collecting, preserving, and exhibiting some of the city’s most iconic large-scale neon lighting. Its sign “graveyard” is a brilliant place to take photos—and it even inspired us to create a neon sign that says “Lucky” for our Vegas house.

FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE

Aside from the world-famous Strip, Fremont Street is the most popular stretch in Vegas. Join the party and experience seven blocks of street performers, live music, restaurants, and attractions like ziplining, a 200,000-gallon shark aquarium, and the world’s biggest video screen. (FYI: We named one of our Scott Living collections Fremont!)

BELLAGIO BOTANICAL GARDEN

We could easily spend days at the Bellagio and be perfectly happy. The luxurious hotel rooms, the relaxing spa, those iconic fountains—we love it all. But what sets it apart from the other resorts are its gorgeous conservatory and botanical garden that changes with the seasons. They call it a 14,000-square-foot floral playground; we call it a Vegas oasis.

DAVID COPPERFIELD AT MGM GRAND

You can’t visit Vegas without seeing a magic show, and the best one in town just so happens to be by our friend David Copperfield. The legendary magician has taken over the MGM Grand and, four decades years into his career, still puts on a truly mesmerizing show. Fingers crossed you’re chosen for one of his mind-boggling audience participation illusions!

WYNN LAS VEGAS

No detail is overlooked at the Wynn’s two properties, from the top-notch casino decor to the ridiculously comfortable beds. And last year, the resort demonstrated its commitment to renewable energy by joining the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Power Partnership; it had already installed more than 100,000 square feet of solar panels across its towers. We love that.

SAW ESCAPE ROOM

We are obsessed with escape rooms, and the Saw Escape Room is insanely thrilling and well produced. It’s based on the freaky movie franchise and, no surprise, immediately throws participants into an immersive, twisted, and high-stress experience. We don’t want to say much more—but we promise you’ll have fun.

MT. CHARLESTON

Vegas isn’t only about glitz and glam. Located about 35 miles northwest of the city, Mt. Charleston (aka Charleston Peak) offers a day trip full of Nevada’s natural beauty. Depending on the weather and your energy level, you can hike, ski, camp, picnic, volunteer, and much more.

THE MIRACLE MILE SHOPS

With over 200 shops, restaurants, and venues, Miracle Mile is a one-stop shop right on the Strip. You can browse housewares and designer goods, take in a burlesque or Beatles show, and experience an indoor rainstorm complete with thunder, lightning, and fog—because few things in Vegas are subtle.
