Actress and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow wants to give back to her longtime assistant Kevin, who, after more than a decade working together, is as dear to her as a brother. Kevin’s condo has had its share of problems after he purchased it, so Gwyneth wanted our help renovating it from a headache to a haven, so he has plenty of space to relax, entertain and enjoy his new home.

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
MEETING GREAT EXPECTATIONS
One of the best design elements Gwyneth introduced was the arch, and there are two in this redesign: the entrance to the kitchen, and this storage and shelving space in the living room. Before, it was an awkward closet with no depth, but now it’s a statement piece, complete with marble backing and a stone shelf to match.
VIEW FROM THE TOP
This upstairs landing—a “funny little area,” as Gwyneth put it—was not being used in any efficient way, so we took the powder room that we stole downstairs (more on that in a minute) and put it up here, along with appropriately sized furniture that could expand for guests at a moment’s notice. The powder room itself is dark and sleek, an appropriate contrast to the downstairs, while still keeping major design elements.
IT’S ALL EASY (WHEN DREW & JONATHAN HELP)
Gwyneth is known for her commitment to cooking clean and eating healthy, but with torn-out drywall and old appliances, Kevin’s old kitchen was not conducive to either. We widened the entrance and stole space from a downstairs powder room to create a lighter, more spacious kitchen. Gwyneth continued the porcelain from the living room into the kitchen, surrounded it with black-and-white neutrals on the cabinets, countertops and flooring, and pulled in metallic accents to shine throughout.
