Tour Jonathan and Zooey’s Renovated Guest House
Jonathan and Zooey are big entertainers. So when they renovated their new home, Park House, they were sure to design plenty of places where they could catch up with friends and family. (Like the kitchen, pool, solarium, and family room, to name a few.) That also meant they needed to update the guest house with all the bells and whistles, including a state-of-the-art kitchen, a bright wet bar, a spa-like bathroom, and more.
They knocked it out of the park, of course! Jonathan and Zooey’s guest house has all the above and then some, making it the ultimate getaway pad for visitors. Take a tour of the colorful, cozy, and cool space below.
1. Gorgeous Guest House
The guest house is the definition of warm and welcoming—their visitors may never want to leave! The kitchen is more than just good looks and charm, though, as Jonathan built in plenty of functional elements throughout the space. For example, he had the range hood motors installed in the attic so that the hood is whisper quiet when turned on. That way, catchup conversations aren’t interrupted.
2. A Piece of History
Speaking of the range, there’s a special story behind this one. “This was the range that was in Zooey’s childhood home, and she kept it as a little piece of nostalgia. It’s been sitting in storage, so I had it completely redone,” he says. “It’s now energy efficient and refinished. I love that we have this piece of Zooey’s history, but it’s functioning perfectly with the aesthetic in the space.”
3. Sleek Appliances
The built-in appliances, like the microwave drawer seen here, also help the kitchen feel clean and uncluttered. No bulky items on the countertop = a dream come true.
4. Fun and Games
Even guests need space to entertain! A wine fridge, glassware, games, and more are available for friends and family to enjoy when they visit Jonathan and Zooey.
5. Pretty in Pink
The pink, black, and white color combo makes a splash (pun intended) in the wet bar. Who needs to go out when you can have happy hour at home?
6. Tile Time
Jonathan and Zooey didn’t reserve the all-tile-everything mindset for the main house. They included lots of impressive, patterned moments here, too, like this chevron wall in the bathroom.
7. Soak It Up
A moment for the tub, please. The tile, built-in shelf, and gold hardware all combine for an oasis that feels like it belongs in a 5-star hotel.
