Full Circle Reno: Monica & Adrian
Monica and Adrian inherited this cherished family home from Monica’s aunt, and for the past 5 years, they continued the tradition of having everyone over for gatherings. But even though they loved the home and the location, it was cramped and very dated.

So, it was time for a big reno to better host their big family! We totally opened up the main living area and updated the 80’s style so Monica, Adrian, and their extended family could party in style for decades.

Design Highlights

The Best of Both of Us
Adrian loves having a fireplace, but the original was dated and didn’t suit the couple’s modern tastes. So, we took his love for stucco finishes and Monica’s fondness for wood tones to create a one-of-a-kind structure that combined both their styles.

More Sightlines and Storage
While Monica’s aunt had done her best to update the kitchen, its sloped ceiling and awkward layout still left it feeling cramped and disorganized. By opening up the kitchen, we were able to not only raise the supporting beam and level the ceiling but also install a massive kitchen island with sightlines and storage galore.

Work Hard, Play Hard
Previously, Monica used the bedroom behind the kitchen as an office. However, besides her desk, the room wasn’t getting much use. By adding a built-in workspace to the back wall, the rest of the space can now be used for additional seating. Plus, the new patio doors make it easy to move outside or inside, so the party never has to stop.
